at mercedes benz fashion week africa about a week ago (ayeeee), i wore this outfit that i literally bought the day before that had me feeling like lorde-meets-solange knowles and i totally loved it. a monochromatic-(of course) mesh-grungey-cool vibe was what i was going for and this loom band – yes, loom band – choker that my friend lusanda made for me was the cherry on top of the fashion cake.
one of the things i really enjoyed about fashion week is the fact that when you’re with your fashion friends, asking them to help you take photos of your outfit for your blog is the most casual question in the world – there’s no awkwardness, no telling them how to use your camera or to take a few full shots, then a close up, then details, etc, etc, etc. this look was shot by khensani from GlitterDaiquiri and she did an awesome job making me look pretty – we even did some of those walking/jumping shots (which ultimately kinda failed, but that’s besides the point).
like i said before, i literally bought this outfit the day before and as always, Mr Price came to my rescue. i finally got a cool mesh top and some of their slip-on shoes, which are not only cute, but comfortable and affordable.
i really loved this outfit, meeting aimee song, seeing the AFI Fasttrack show, flouncing my new curly hair and enjoying the beautiful melrose arch vibes before it started raining profusely (as it has been since that day, basically). in happier recent news: i’m pretty much finished finals! i wrote my final chemistry and physics exams on friday and monday, which is why i have the time to finally blog this look – yay! only four more to go until i’m officially funemployed!
Look at you, look at you and look at you!
This was such a fun day.
