“We came alive in this city. The people, the pace and the chaos.”
Mr Price has always been one of those brands that is always on trend, and one trend that is still cool right now – thanks to veterans like A$ap Rocky (and maybe Kayla Itsines?) – is urban street style and sports luxe, and their new STREET range is definitely that international aesthetic on a budget (which is something that I, officially a student, can seriously appreciate).
I feel like we’re reaching a point in fashion where clean and often more minimalistic looks are much more revered than the outlandishly ostentatious – I mean, now we don’t have to try so hard to prove that we get fashion -, and this new MRP range definitely understands that. It caters to the fashion conscious student and the street-style-savant-on-the-go with its printed body-con two pieces and simple silhouettes that are designed to be dressed up and dressed down.On the real, though, the menswear is what really steals my heart. The oversized shirts and joggers vibe – thanks, Kanye? – is definitely one that’s easy yet so complete at the same time. I’m a die-hard monochrome fan because everything will always match with each other and the STREET range caters to that. With a range like this, all that’s missing is some lace ups or combat boots, a backpack – maybe even a beanie or flat cap – and you’re good to go. I recently got the Star Print jogger and not only are they super comfortable, I wore them during the day on campus and with a change of accessories, they were ready for the Cape Town nightlife.
You can see how I styled the look below – I really enjoyed shooting this because the way the lighting and the scenery worked out, I feel like you could totally get the street vibe.
The STREET range is available now both online and in store.
