Have you ever heard the phrase, “When Jesus says ‘yes’, nobody can say ‘no’?” Lately, that’s how I’ve been feeling. With test week having come to an end and Cape Town deciding to tease us with spring/summer, I’ve been ridiculously happy lately and I just want this feeling to last. I mean, I even wrote a test on Monday night but when I came home to this beautiful Vera Moda 3/4 jacket courtesy of Superbalist, I forgot all about it!
I’m usually apprehensive towards online shopping because my body is quite weird proportion-wise – I barely know what size I am! At 5’10”, I’m quite tall, but most of my body is my legs and I have long arms with broad shoulders, so ordering pants and shirts has always been a bit of nightmare for me. Regardless, I’ve loved the brands Superbalist stocks – ranging from New Look to American Apparel – and I had to take the opportunity presented to me.
Given my body woes, I was really happy that Superbalist is as descriptive as it is. I love that they specify the model’s height and size so that you can measure up against them, and thats exactly what I did. I usually buy a medium, but using their sizing and measurement chart, I decided on a size small and having tried it on now, it was a perfect fit! Even if it wasn’t, I hear they have an amazing returns policy so I wasn’t even that bothered.
I ordered it on Wednesday afternoon and received it five days later on Monday with free shipping! They also emailed and SMSed me every step of the way and called me on delivery, so I knew exactly where my package all the time. It’s a beautiful jacket and I had a great experience with them and I can’t wait to shop with them again 😀
I took these images yesterday when my friends, Retha (my beautiful new photographer) and Kutlwano, launched me for a spontaneous Camps Bay mission because after working so hard in school, we deserved nice things! We got to shoot in the golden hour (this was my first time seeing my bare legs in a while and they’re actually quite pale LOL) and had a late lunch/dinner at Blues (I love that place!) before we went to a vintage market that evening. I got such a 90s-eque jacket which you’ll probably see some time soon.
Like my faves at the Frank Podcast say, don’t underestimate the value of female friendships. They’re such a necessity for self-care! Just being around women who get you and support you is honestly such a blessing. You don’t even have to be about deep chats – just their presence is often enough to let you know that you’ll be okay. Don’t take them for granted – treasure them and relish in them!
So if life has been stressing you out, buy something online, forget immediately so that you have a surprise of new things when it arrives and then go to the beach/lunch with your girlfriends and just be carefree. Enjoy life, guys – sometimes it’s really nice 🙂
amazing look and great advice, I really love your blog xx

Thanks boo! With legs like yours, you don’t need mine 🙂
Them legs tho. Living right in jean-to-jean with serious sunsets. YES.
