events | besties before boys with JT One

a few weeks ago, on the 11th of november, my bestie, grace, and i had the awesome opportunity to go to JT One‘s most epic slumber party at the Inanda Club in sandton. the event was held as an ode to the fans of JT One; a celebration of friendship! it was a girls only party, with the only boys invited being the beautiful male models that they got to serve us and party with us (can i just add that if i had to die by being overfed by pretty boys, it would be a pretty chill way to go).

the event also coincided with the launch of JT One’s Official Instagram Page, so, naturally, there was some really fun competitions being held that night! such as the awesome besties-getaway at the Four Seasons (which i so gracefully lost) and other spot prizes of Woolies vouchers and iPod’s being given away by our hostess with the mostess, Bonang Matheba, to the girls who had the most fun dancing, and other quirky things. although my nae-nae and vogueing wasn’t appreciated that night, i’ll live (LOL)!

we got to enjoy the musical stylings of DJ Zinhle, DJ Ms Cosmo, DJ Doowap, and Ryan Gosling (not the real deal, but maybe in our next lifetime), get our pictures taken by the Cobra Snake photographer (who flew out from LA!!!) but more importantly, we got to enjoy each other’s company! with mixologists, sushi, a candy bar, pizza, a midnight feast, ice cream, cotton candy and manicures/makeovers on deck – and a pillow fighting boxing ring and photobooth ready to go – it was a really fun night to enjoy with your best friend, because at the end of the day, friendship is all we have. boys come and go, but we should never forget to enjoy the company of our friends. even when we get boyfriends/respective partners, they should always be our friends first, because friendship is so important! it was really important to me because with final exams going on, spending quality time with your friends takes a backseat, and it becomes harder and harder to relax – so this slumber party was definitely needed! i also got to see some of my blogger friends (if we’re mutual followers on social media, we’re friends. that’s how it works), like Tshepang Mollison from Sleepless In Soweto, Sarah Langa, Jerri Mokgofe and Crystal Kasper!
