I think I’ve literally been dreaming about my ideal winter ~ aesthetic ~ since mid-summer (thanks, Tumblr), and there’s always been one integral component: a coat. I don’t know how I’ve managed to live my winters without one, but my heart has been yearning for one and I feel like brands and I have definitely been on the same wavelength this season.
win [now closed]| happy birthday to me (and you)!
Yay, it’s my birthday! Today I turn 19, and in true birthday fashion, I gotta give something to everyone else. Sadly, it’s not cake – but it still is pretty sweet.
the big constantia
in what i think is the last post in the trilogy of dearsolo goes to cape town, my family and i went to the famous groot constantia wine estate in cape town for a wine tour, cellar tour and wine tasting (along with this really nice canadian couple, eh). my sisters, who both live in cape town, have been to a lot of the wine farms in both cape town and stellenbosch before, and i have always dreamed of learning more about wine.
rephrase, i have always dreamed about learning more about wine so that the really pretentious things i say about wine actually make sense, lol. it was a real learning experience and believe me when i say i can’t wait to do it again, maybe next time in stellenbosch.
Welcome To My Neighbourgood
Braamfontein Street Style
Before I begin, lemme just say that yesterday has broken my heart completely. I pray for justice for Trayvon and peace for the Monteiths. What a day.
On Saturday, my sister Sope and I went to Braamfontein and the Neighbourgoods Market (but that is a separate post in itself). For the first time, I felt brave enough to try and do some street style photography – but bear in mind, I am not a street style photographer and this is my first time, so I’m getting there. Braamfontein is where you can find all the ‘hipsters’, so to speak, so while I didn’t manage to shoot all the interesting outfits I saw, I shot some pretty cool ones too.
